UK National Guidelines for HIV Testing 2008 launched at the Royal College of Physicians, London 17th September 2008.
HIV is one of the most important
communicable diseases in the UK, and timely diagnosis is part of good clinical practice.
These guidelines are intended to facilitate early diagnosis and reduce the levels of

Revised guidance on HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) from the UK Chief Medical Officers' Expert Advisory Group on AIDS
The Department of Health has published (19th September) revised guidance on HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) from the UK Chief Medical Officers' Expert Advisory Group on AIDS (EAGA).
The document supersedes both existing EAGA guidance on occupational HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) issued in February 2004, and the interim update following the withdrawal of Viracept (nelfinavir, one of the drugs used for PEP), issued in July 2007.

Second Edition of Immunoglobulin Guidelines and Demand Management Plan
Launched - 30th May 2008. Responses to stakeholders' comments, including those made by BIS, AMM and BSAC have been published on the IVIg website.
2009 Graham Bull prize in Clinical Science now open.
Awarded by the Royal College of Physicians,
applications are invited from clinicians and basic scientists from a wide area of expertise such as molecular and cellular biology, psychiatry or health sciences.
