Membership Rates & Forms

The British Infection Society encourages membership from anyone with an interest in infection, whether this be from a medical, nursing, laboratory, pharmacy or epidemiological background.

There are three types of membership:

• Full membership
• Associate membership
• Retired membership

Full membership includes subscription to the Journal of Infection. Members in training may opt for free membership which includes the BIS Newsletter but not the Journal of Infection. Attendance at the spring BIS meeting is currently free to members, as are most other events and conferences sponsored or arranged by the BIS, apart from the annual Conference of the Federation of Infection Societies (FIS).

Membership scales are printed on the application form. Note that payment by direct debit is preferred and is therefore slightly cheaper.
